It was a penalty for IFK Göteborg! IFK Göteborg:s Florin Dorlea showed great skill when he stopped Mario Fernandino:s penalty. It was joyful for the audience to see Mario Fernandino dribbling past the opponents defense line in the 12th played minute and put the ball into the net. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Ferrant in the 15th minute of play forced IFK Göteborg's goalkeeper Florin Dorlea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mattias Kilman kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joachim Hägg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Benito Madrid hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vitaliy Krylatov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Camilo Freixa made a huge save. When Julio Chicote fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bolivia's protests and gave Julio Chicote a yellow card for diving instead. Julio Chicote hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After having played for 91 minutes, Eduardo Fontirroig managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Fontirroig was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 93 minutes into the game, Eduardo Fontirroig cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Florin Dorlea was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the IFK Göteborg defense, Eduardo Fontirroig kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Florin Dorlea. The IFK Göteborg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Florin Dorlea should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Bolivia had won after a very even match.
