Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. 12 minutes into the match, VETERANOS DA GUINÉ - FLF's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Miguel Pedroso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vivaldo Belém in the 17th minute. In the 22nd minute, Jerónimo Leiria fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Bruno Tristão kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bruno Tristão in the 89th minute of the match. Zé Guine charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zé Guine the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Zé Guine kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Ecuador players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
