Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 5 minutes into the match, Saturnino Lluc had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Saturnino Lluc was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 15 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Justino Locaio came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Harun Uluer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the game, Patricio Costa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santos Lugares FC the free kick. After 21 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saturnino Lluc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 29 played minutes Santos Lugares FC got a freekick which was hit by Salvador Aureo. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artemio Formerio in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Flavio Gotzon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harun Uluer was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Tomas Illescas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Illescas really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. In a very dangerous position, a player in Venezuela fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! In the 42nd minute there was a penalty for Santos Lugares FC. Omar Berasko stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. 1-3. After 44 played minutes Santos Lugares FC got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Gotzon. In the 47th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Justino Locaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Patricio Costa was the one to do the kick off. Artemio Formerio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. After 57 played minutes Santos Lugares FC got a freekick which was hit by Blas Felipo. In the 62nd match minute, Santos Lugares FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Gotzon to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 83rd minute, Artemio Formerio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 1-4. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Santos Lugares FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Flavio Gotzon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Santos Lugares FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
