In the 27th minute of the match, Ludomir Serwacki tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ricardo Zorita saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ludomir Serwacki couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorge Magrina during the 96th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Wyszyny booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Magrina didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee ended the match the Wyszyny players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
