Sport Club Abrilense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dan Rüdy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléber Catarinense in the 19th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute Severino Bruggink shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cléber Catarinense was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Sport Club Abrilense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Luix didn't get a good kick on the ball. Florian Zawadzki's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Florian Zawadzki helped the player get up and apologised. If German Estevez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Sport Club Abrilense's German Estevez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-7 after 77 minutes of play. Sport Club Abrilense's Silvio Checa was substituted for Tobias Felo. Leopoldo Dominix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 81st minute of the match. Leopoldo Dominix didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-7 was the resulting score. Jens-Erik Lindblom might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. In the 95th minute, German Estevez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Club Abrilense fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-8. Sport Club Abrilense played a much better game than Venezuela and deserved their victory. The Venezuela players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
