Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) After having played for 4 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Helmuth Duckadam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 8th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Helmuth Duckadam made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Helmuth Duckadam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 28 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vintilă Barascu. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Vintilă Barascu sent off a good shot on target. After 38 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Stelian Gorun who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Stelian Gorun almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. Stelian Gorun struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ticul. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Helmuth Duckadam tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Vintilă Barascu made the kick off in the second half. When David Israeli fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ticul's protests and gave David Israeli a yellow card for diving instead. David Israeli hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Ticul's Vintilă Barascu. But to his dismay, Vintilă Barascu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 58 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Vintilă Barascu came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ye Jian Kang hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. Helmuth Duckadam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 60th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stelian Gorun, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vintilă Barascu in the 62nd minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Vintilă Barascu came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 69 minutes, Vintilă Barascu made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Ticul's Helmuth Duckadam got control of the ball when Tomas Illescas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valeriu Tatomir went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. If Stelian Gorun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Lucas Lindell fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ticul's protests and gave Lucas Lindell a yellow card for diving instead. After 84 played minutes Ticul got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Lindell. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. Stelian Gorun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vintilă Barascu's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. David Israeli was shown his second yellow card after 93 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 94th minute, David Israeli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Helmuth Duckadam managed to avoid a goal in the 95thth minute, when Venezuela's Tomas Illescas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Ticul's Helmuth Duckadam played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 96th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ticul had played much better football throughout.
