Marcos Cotilla made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Hannes Hedström sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Brian Thorsberg got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dylan Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. The supporters of Anfield Road booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaron Barrios didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 25 minutes, Marcos Cotilla successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mattias Snell to make the kick off. Adrian Wennerström came out and tried to block the shot, but Isidoro Sarmiento slotted it home off the left post making it 2-5 in the 95th minute. When the match was over Panama could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Anfield Road throughout the match.
