An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Dos Reis in the 20th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Chile defense, Zé Dos Reis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thiago Pliego. The Chile fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thiago Pliego should have stopped the shot. Edmund Dulemba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 40th minute of play. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Dos Reis in the 45th minute of play. After the first half Türk Polis Gücü were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
