When Agustín Saelices came up free with the goalie in the 18th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Agustín Saelices couldn't finish the play. Jedrzej Beninda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Jedrzej Beninda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Piotr Degutis hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jedrzej Beninda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sergi Llinares in the 92nd minute of the match. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
