Övertorneå RK's Vilgot Palmquist played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 15th minute of play. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Harry Almqvists short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Dante Lacasa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 19 minutes into the game, Harry Almqvist lined in a short shot 1-1 behind a frustrated Dante Lacasa. Saverio Matthew sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the match, Övertorneå RK's Harry Almqvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harry Almqvist in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. Vilgot Palmquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 39th minute of play. Vilgot Palmquist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lautaro Mancebo kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. If Harry Almqvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alberto Tafalla who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Vilgot Palmquist when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mexico's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Joel Gaona in the 74th minute. Kristian Tomasson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luca Rouco kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 83rd minute of play forced Övertorneå RK's goalkeeper Vilgot Palmquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 唐宁峰 kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. Mexico's Joel Gaona shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 90th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Vilgot Palmquist but with some difficulty. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Vilgot Palmquist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Övertorneå RK booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Facundo Cadaval didn't get a good kick on the ball. Despite being the better team, Mexico failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
