Erkan Sadi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Mcdonald in the 48th minute of play. 49 minutes had been played when some careless play by Kayserispor's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cassius Byrne was slow to take the kick. During this time USA's players had a chance to rest. USA's Diego Bradley was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Erkan Sadi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 51st minute of the match USA got a corner. Kayserispor's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cassius Byrne ran over to the corner to take the kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Marco Day showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klement Ledochowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Erkan Sadi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cassius Byrne in the 64th minute. Monty Rogers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Erkan Sadi made a huge save. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hong Zhan Bang in the 67th minute of play. Marco Day didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hong Zhan Bang went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Mcdonald in the 73rd minute of play forced Kayserispor's goalkeeper Erkan Sadi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. USA were awarded a corner in the 74th minute after Kayserispor's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Monty Rogers took the corner. The corner led USA's Monty Rogers to fire away a dangerous shot which Erkan Sadi despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Hong Zhan Bang managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kayserispor's supporters rose to their feet, but Hong Zhan Bang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Klement Ledochowski in the 80th minute of play. USA were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
