Phillip Glerum showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Berganza, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Aaron Barrios charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aaron Barrios the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 18 minutes into the match, Antonio Alzamendi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Saco FC booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abraham Alguacil didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Isidoro Sarmiento got free with Phillip Glerum in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peter-Jan De Brouwer in the 24th minute of play. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Antonio Alzamendi was the one to do the kick off. In the 63rd minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phillip Glerum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Panama's zone, Linus Resentvig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal and Linus Resentvig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chris Dhaussy kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Panama's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Chris Dhaussy was slow to take the kick. During this time Saco FC's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Antonio Alzamendi managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The Saco FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 95th minute of play forced Saco FC's goalkeeper Phillip Glerum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
