When Thiago Catarinense fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Joinville City - FSCMZ's protests and gave Thiago Catarinense a yellow card for diving instead. In the 69th minute, Thiago Catarinense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquim Amaral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. In the 85th minute, Mariano Lacasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joaquim Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquim Amaral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. 92 minutes into the game, Chile's Mariano Lacasa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquim Amaral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-0. When the match clock showed 95 minutes, the score became 11-0 when Mariano Lacasa sped through Joinville City - FSCMZ's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joaquim Amaral. Chile walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
