When Luis Rubio fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Luis Rubio a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Veritas booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sílvio Luís do Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Romano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manuel Romano in the 30th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arturo Castronovo took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 36th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentino Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. Arturo Castronovo had several of the El Salvador's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 39 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Ricardo Zorita as he didn't even see the shot coming. Moises Fernandino kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Sílvio Luís do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. Carlo Colangelo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Zorita having to make a save. Sílvio Luís do Nascimento received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ricardo Zorita came out and tried to block the shot, but Sílvio Luís do Nascimento slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Arturo Castronovo was the one to do the kick off. After 53 minutes of play, Veritas's Manuel Romano made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ricardo Zorita was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Jesus Carvallo hit a great ball. Beppe Rosetta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Joshua Curbelo kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Romano, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Arturo Castronovo sped through El Salvador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. Manuel Romano might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ricardo Zorita. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manuel Romano ran back to his position shaking his head. Aldo Crisantemo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Moises Fernandino in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luís do Nascimento in the 72nd minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Arturo Castronovo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Veritas's Aurelio Bassani was substituted for Carlo Colangelo. In the 80th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. Aurelio Bassani made in the 86th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Danilo Aguilera however managed to control. Danilo Aguilera kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot. El Salvador's supporters rose to their feet, but Moises Fernandino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aldo Crisantemo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee ended the match the Veritas players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
