Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Manuel Espagnet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. In the 17th minute, Cezar Nișu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Manuel Espagnet quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Cezar Nișu took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Yuma Roekito scored 4-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cezar Nișu to make the kick off. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Manuel Espagnet came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lyon Olympique 69 were awarded a corner in the 66th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Toni Dean took the corner. After taking down the ball on Lyon Olympique 69's corner Toni Dean fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. With a little luck, Lyon Olympique 69's Manuel Espagnet got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Manuel Espagnet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 72nd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Cezar Nișu put it in 5-2 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Espagnet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Lyon Olympique 69's Manuel Espagnet proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Lyon Olympique 69 from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Camilo Gisbert got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 91st minute of the match, Cristian Sancho tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Manuel Espagnet saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cezar Nișu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cezar Nișu, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Espagnet read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play.
