But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teofil Gorzkiewicz couldn't finish the play. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 6 minutes into the game, one of Colombia:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. TIMETER EC -DMZ-'s Ferdinand Joldea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the match Colombia got a corner. TIMETER EC -DMZ-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. A very good chance for a goal. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teofil Gorzkiewicz in the 20th minute of play. With a left leg Ferdinand Joldea saved TIMETER EC -DMZ- from getting behind. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Teofil Gorzkiewicz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. In the 44th minute Teofil Gorzkiewicz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led to TIMETER EC -DMZ-'s Nicolas Alcântara getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Orlando Tafalla's late challenge caught a TIMETER EC -DMZ-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
