To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 4 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernan Naelio. 5 minutes into the game, Fernan Naelio recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Fernan Naelio showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Alfonso Paul kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Montecarlo FC's goalkeeper Geronimo Colas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Geronimo Colas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 14th minute of play. In the 16th play minute Artemio Ibañez came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Julio Vera. 2-1. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Montecarlo FC's Geronimo Colas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 23rd minute of play. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Geronimo Colas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute Artemio Ibañez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute, Juan Sebastián Puig hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artemio Ibañez in the 38th minute of play. Geronimo Colas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Artemio Ibañez might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Artemio Ibañez ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 43rd minute Artemio Ibañez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 45th minute of the game. One of Montecarlo FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Ecuador:s goal. Daniel Zorita walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Artemio Ibañez was the one to do the kick off. Montecarlo FC's Geronimo Colas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Montecarlo FC from getting a goal against them. The corner ended in Felix Montes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Montecarlo FC's Geronimo Colas did a great save. When Gabriel Joachim fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Montecarlo FC's protests and gave Gabriel Joachim a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 54th minute of the game. A sloppy throw-in by Camilo Gisbert in the 56th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Montecarlo FC's Mauricio Urbez. After 59 played minutes Montecarlo FC got a freekick which was hit by Mauricio Urbez. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Rosendo Chaime kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Geronimo Colas made a huge save. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artemio Ibañez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 67 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Geronimo Colas was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 72nd match minute, Montecarlo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernan Naelio to maneuver through the defense. Geronimo Colas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 75th minute of the match. If Felix Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Montecarlo FC made a substitution. Leon Min replaced Jesus Iratxo. 83 minutes into the match, Montecarlo FC's goalkeeper Geronimo Colas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Montecarlo FC to leave the ground with a draw.
