Justino Ungia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Sugamuxi were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Teofilo Coleira took the corner. After taking down the ball on Sugamuxi's corner Teofilo Coleira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Justino Ungia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Justino Ungia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of the match. André Quadros kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 25th minute of play forced Sugamuxi's goalkeeper Justino Ungia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Justino Ungia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 35th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. Luis Andino hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Justino Ungia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Maxim Fossaert kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sugamuxi's goalkeeper Justino Ungia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Sugamuxi getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Goiz Berdu hit a great ball. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teofilo Coleira in the 66th minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Justino Ungia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justino Ungia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sugamuxi made a substitution. Nerio Doro replaced Goyo Salais. Sugamuxi's Jonas Bauweleers was substituted for Maxim Fossaert. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Justino Ungia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. After 83 minutes Sugamuxi's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 87thth minute, Justino Ungia skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sugamuxi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Justino Ungia quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teofilo Coleira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Justino Ungia in the 100th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Ecuador had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
