Rolando Alley could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. 19 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tom Wassenius. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nazmija Stojković in the 20th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 44 minutes Atlético de Caracas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Atlético de Caracas's Zarando Calva managed to reach the ball for a save. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolando Alley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Atlético de Caracas made a substitution. Aires Laguno replaced Nazmija Stojković. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Zarando Calva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Xavier Seco went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. In the 55th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Mancebo to maneuver through the defense. Zarando Calva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aires Laguno in the 76th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Zarando Calva in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 80th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Atlético de Caracas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Atlético de Caracas's Zarando Calva managed to reach the ball for a save. 88 minutes into the match, Atlético de Caracas's goal looked a bit too open when Luca Zorita came free, but Zarando Calva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Atlético de Caracas made a substitution. Nuno Santarém replaced Rolando Alley. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Atlético de Caracas's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Atlético de Caracas's Zarando Calva managed to reach the ball for a save. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zarando Calva having to interfere. The Atlético de Caracas supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Mexico's performance. The match ended with a win for Mexico.
