In the 19th minute, Felix Luque hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filip Paulescu in the 20th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save FC Steaua Pildesti from getting a goal against them. Lautaro Mancebo came free with the goalkeeper in the 24th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marian Văduvescu could save by the left post. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 25th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Steaua Pildesti's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marian Văduvescu came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicolae Barbu in the 42nd minute of the match. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lucian Stere to strike the kick off in the second half. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marian Văduvescu having to interfere. In the 63rd minute of the match Nistor Costandache sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dante Lacasa skillfully saved the ball. After 72 played minutes FC Steaua Pildesti got a freekick which was hit by Robert Antohi. Marian Văduvescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 72nd minute of play. 78 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Marian Văduvescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. Lautaro Mancebo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marian Văduvescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Marian Văduvescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filip Paulescu in the 96th minute of play. FC Steaua Pildesti's Marian Văduvescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 97th minute of play. FC Steaua Pildesti's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
