Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. 33 minutes into the game, Adalberto Figueiredo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Thiago Pliego was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Chile's Guillermo Fontirroig got a free kick in the 36th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Elias Ayala stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Elias Ayala tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adalberto Figueiredo. 43 minutes had been played when some careless play by Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chile's players had a chance to rest. 47 minutes into the match, Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Casaus came free, but Villiam Arenius reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Mariano Lacasa made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's goalkeeper Villiam Arenius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mariano Lacasa. Van Damme kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Thiago Pliego took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adalberto Figueiredo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Zagłębie Dąbrowskie's Feliks Ludwa got a free kick in the 61st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adalberto Figueiredo in the 94th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Villiam Arenius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Chile booed when Zagłębie Dąbrowskie was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 99 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feliks Ludwa didn't get a good kick on the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chile players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
