When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Teodoro Hartz took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. In the 16th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Ceni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Axel Montenegro was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Pascual Carballar almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Rogério Ceni did a great save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Teodoro Hartz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's supporters rose to their feet, but Teodoro Hartz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedro Manzanares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Rogério Ceni managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Colombia's Axel Montenegro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Abram Sarmiento scored to the left of an out of position Rogério Ceni, making the score, 2-2. After 70 played minutes Belgrano LOS PIRATAS got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Franco. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. The supporters of Colombia booed when Belgrano LOS PIRATAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogério Ceni came out and tried to block the shot, but Ignacio Mastache slotted it home off the left post making it 3-3 in the 93rd minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
