The audience was convinced that Felix Vennersten's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. 11 minutes into the match, Liden FF's goalkeeper Sven-Ove Eliasson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. In the 13th minute, Rasmus Ahlström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Sven-Ove Eliasson firmly grabbed it by the left post. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montenegro to fire away a dangerous shot which Sven-Ove Eliasson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, Liden FF's Sven-Ove Eliasson got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Liden FF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. 22 minutes into the game, one of Liden FF:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Daniel Zorita shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After a defensive mix-up in Liden FF's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven-Ove Eliasson came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Sven-Ove Eliasson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sven-Ove Eliasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcu Vlas, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The Ecuador players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Liden FF were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Luis Andino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Ove Eliasson having to interfere. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 58 minutes into the game, Oskar Backman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liden FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 59th minute there was a penalty for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Sven-Ove Eliasson. 2-1. Sven-Ove Eliasson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 62nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 63rd minute of play forced Liden FF's goalkeeper Sven-Ove Eliasson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 64th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Liden FF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 67th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven-Ove Eliasson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute of the match Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sven-Ove Eliasson skillfully saved the ball. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sven-Ove Eliasson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. When Kaj Hellsing fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Liden FF's protests and gave Kaj Hellsing a yellow card for diving instead. In the 77th match minute, Liden FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kaj Hellsing to maneuver through the defense. Sven-Ove Eliasson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 79th minute of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Ove Eliasson having to interfere. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sven-Ove Eliasson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Felix Montenegro's late challenge caught a Liden FF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Montenegro helped the player get up and apologised.
