The supporters of Ecuador booed when Pheonix FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th play minute Cristian Sancho came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tyge Oehlerich. 1-0. When Aparicio Junel fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pheonix FC's protests and gave Aparicio Junel a yellow card for diving instead. 13 minutes into the game, one of Pheonix FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Tyge Oehlerich made a huge save. In the 29th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyge Oehlerich saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tyge Oehlerich having to interfere. Tyge Oehlerich was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Daniel Zorita capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Daniel Zorita really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladislav Hampejs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 41st minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vladislav Hampejs in the 42nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Marcel Militaru was slow to take the kick. During this time Pheonix FC's players had a chance to rest. 46 minutes into the match, Pheonix FC's goalkeeper Tyge Oehlerich had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Tyge Oehlerich took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pheonix FC! The referee gave Ecuador a penalty, 58 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Daniel Zorita, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pheonix FC's Tyge Oehlerich. 3-0. In the 67th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tyge Oehlerich having to interfere. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Pheonix FC's Vladislav Hampejs fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Vladislav Hampejs sent off a good shot on target. Pheonix FC's Tyge Oehlerich played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Pheonix FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tyge Oehlerich having to make a save. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tyge Oehlerich having to make a save. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Vladislav Hampejs tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vladislav Hampejs, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. Ecuador walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
