An unexpectedly hard shot by Patricio Costa in the 15th minute of play forced FC LauB's goalkeeper Rutger Danielsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Camilo Gaos during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Camilo Gaos hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute, Augusto da Cunha got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rutger Danielsson having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, FC LauB's Mario Mendez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. If Pascual Markel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Rutger Danielsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andrzej Brysz made in the 69th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Oriche Rotges. After having played for 75 minutes, Ander Lepist managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC LauB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ander Lepist was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Venezuela's Alex Chicote managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Oriche Rotges in the 78 minute of the game. 82 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Pascual Markel came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Mario Mendez came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the FC LauB fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mario Mendez couldn't finish the play. FC LauB were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Augusto da Cunha took the corner. The corner led FC LauB's Augusto da Cunha to fire away a dangerous shot which Jonathan Ferrant despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 96 minutes into the game, Jose Correa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC LauB the free kick. FC LauB's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
