The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Váldson Viana was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Vargas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Váldson Viana, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Váldson Viana came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Venezuela players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
