When Aksel Ojamäe fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jäneda Club de Bilbao's protests and gave Aksel Ojamäe a yellow card for diving instead. Aksel Ojamäe hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. If Alfredo Ferrant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bolivia's Eduardo Fontirroig got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bolivia's attentive Francisco Gallo managed to snatch the ball when Allan Üts made a throw-in in the 23rd minute of the game. 25 minutes into the game, Alfredo Ferrant was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bolivia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jäneda Club de Bilbao the free kick. The supporters of Jäneda Club de Bilbao booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camilo Freixa acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 26th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Allan Üts. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mario Fernandino was the one to do the kick off. Alfonso de la Cruz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Edmund Ubar having to make a save. Jäneda Club de Bilbao's Vallo Eiber quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Francisco Gallo, made in the 58th minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Francisco Gallo during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 60 played minutes Bolivia got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Gallo. After having played for 63 minutes, Mario Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bolivia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mario Fernandino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 65th minute, Elmut Rääbis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 66 minutes, Alfonso de la Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bolivia and the Jäneda Club de Bilbao players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Alfonso de la Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Bolivia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso de la Cruz couldn't finish the play. Üllar Rajamäe kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Bolivia's Edmund Ubar threw himself towards the right post 73 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Julio Chicote, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Camilo Freixa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Elmut Rääbis's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. Julio Chicote sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Eduardo Fontirroig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edmund Ubar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the game, Eduardo Fontirroig recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edmund Ubar. Eduardo Fontirroig showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. 97 minutes into the match, Jäneda Club de Bilbao's Elmut Rääbis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Camilo Freixa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match was over Bolivia could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Jäneda Club de Bilbao throughout the match.
