An unexpectedly hard shot by Gertjan Lanphan in the 45th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Robrecht Streels tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 69th minute. Pierre De Swert hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. In the 73rd minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Volodymyr Zelenskiy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Pierre De Swert fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Szuperbeton's protests and gave Pierre De Swert a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Szuperbeton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pierre De Swert didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Stephen Waron's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Szuperbeton fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
