The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Milagros Cabal a yellow card for diving instead. Lautaro Navarro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kris Pearse in the 7th minute. 9 minutes into the match, Boroondara Milan's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Bath Boyce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes had been played when some careless play by Boroondara Milan's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Bath Boyce in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Paco Everett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Kris Pearse had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bath Boyce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute, Boroondara Milan's Kris Pearse dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 28 minutes into the game, Sebastian Villa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Bath Boyce was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 33 minutes into the match, Kris Pearse dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lautaro Navarro, 2-1. Bath Boyce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 38th minute of the match. If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. Edmundo Espiga in the 52ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bath Boyce, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 53 minutes of play, Boroondara Milan's Paco Everett made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Boroondara Milan fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Boroondara Milan's Paco Everett looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Moises Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Bath Boyce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Boroondara Milan's Bath Boyce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 65th minute of play. Kris Pearse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd minute, Christian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rd minute, Kris Pearse got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jason Sperling, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 89 minutes into the game, Jason Sperling cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Lautaro Navarro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 94 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Milagros Cabal. The Boroondara Milan support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
