Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) 3 minutes into the game, Boroondara Milan's Paco Everett nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Bath Boyce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Tasis in the 8th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Benny Atkin during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Benny Atkin kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 19th minute of the match, Paco Everett got a very nice opportunity to score, but Benito Sanz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bath Boyce having to interfere. In the 22nd minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bath Boyce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 23 minutes Boroondara Milan's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Tasis who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Eliseo Noboa heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 28th minute, Abel Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Paco Everett came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Boroondara Milan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paco Everett couldn't finish the play. When Alan Moruga fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alan Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Boroondara Milan booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paco Everett who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Benito Sanz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 36 minutes, Paco Everett made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paco Everett in the 40th minute. In the 41st minute, Kris Pearse fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Kris Pearse capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kris Pearse really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Long Worsley charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Long Worsley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Boroondara Milan's Long Worsley got a free kick in the 51st minute. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bath Boyce having to interfere. Kris Pearse might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kris Pearse ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 57th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. Hugo Ferrant hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 62nd minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 63 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Ferrant. A collision led to Boroondara Milan getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Jason Sperling hit a great ball. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kris Pearse in the 70th minute of the match. Kris Pearse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paco Everett in the 81st minute of play. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arty Shearn went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Drake Sobczak might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Drake Sobczak ran back to his position shaking his head.
