Daniil Barlas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Daniil Barlas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniil Barlas slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 8th minute. Thodoris Patsatzis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trifon Takounakis in the 19th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Giorgos Raftopoulos tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner ended in Aris Stefanopoulos almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniil Barlas in the 23rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Daniil Barlas managed to get in a good position for a shot. PAOK Irakliou's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniil Barlas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 32nd minute, Giorgos Raftopoulos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Thodoris Patsatzis having to make a save. Thodoris Patsatzis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Daniil Barlas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Daniil Barlas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniil Barlas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. PAOK Irakliou's Thodoris Patsatzis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 45th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniil Barlas to make the kick off. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniil Barlas in the 51st minute of play. Themis Tsopakis hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Sakis Skouras kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Venegas charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathan Venegas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of PAOK Irakliou booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniil Barlas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thodoris Patsatzis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniil Barlas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 83rd minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thodoris Patsatzis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. In the 89th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thodoris Patsatzis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee ended the match the PAOK Irakliou players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
