In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A.F. Pindamonhangaba's Gernando Guerra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 24th minute after A.F. Pindamonhangaba's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Gernando Guerra quite easily take care of the ball. A.F. Pindamonhangaba's Ronaldão Mineiro managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Camilo Gisbert in the 26 minute of the game. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 30th minute of play forced A.F. Pindamonhangaba's goalkeeper Gernando Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match.
