Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urban Wennerquist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cassius Byrne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Pete Luna made a huge save. After a rather tough play, USA's Jacob May got a free kick in the 27th minute. The supporters of USA booed when Joga Hem FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bilgin Erol didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner went over the outstretched arms of USA's goalie and right to Hong Yao Peng. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. USA's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. 38 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when Hong Yao Peng came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Pete Luna managed to avoid a goal in the 41stth minute, when USA's Cassius Byrne fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.
