Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Brazilio Butt made a huge save. Brazilio Butt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 20th minute. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by DIF LEEDS BK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Brazilio Butt quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a defensive mix-up in DIF LEEDS BK's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brazilio Butt came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulf Nordlander in the 31st minute of play. In the 46th match minute, DIF LEEDS BK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lars Gudmundsson to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pál Kormos went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After the first half DIF LEEDS BK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Pál Kormos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brazilio Butt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 59th minute of play forced DIF LEEDS BK's goalkeeper Brazilio Butt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 62 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eduardo Selmo who took care of the corner kick. After 65 played minutes DIF LEEDS BK got a freekick which was hit by Lars Gudmundsson. After 70 minutes of play, DIF LEEDS BK's Ulf Nordlander made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 73rd minute, Ulf Nordlander made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Brazilio Butt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Nordlander in the 81st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute Pál Kormos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
