In the 10th minute of the match, Axel Montenegro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Darrel Pennington was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 11th minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Puianello FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. Axel Montenegro made a great header on Colombia's corner, it was just that Puianello FC's Darrel Pennington managed to reach the ball for a save. Luis Cazalla who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Darrel Pennington when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Montenegro got free with Darrel Pennington in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Puianello FC's goalkeeper Darrel Pennington, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Puianello FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Göksel Taşdan hit a great ball. 21 minutes into the match, Puianello FC's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Darrel Pennington reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darrel Pennington made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Axel Montenegro sent off a good shot on target. After the first half Puianello FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Göksel Taşdan to make the kick off. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Darrel Pennington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 54th minute of play. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Göksel Taşdan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Colombia booed when Puianello FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sándor Bodnár didn't get a good kick on the ball. Göksel Taşdan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Göksel Taşdan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pedro Manzanares came out and tried to block the shot, but Göksel Taşdan slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 63rd minute. In the 66th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Darrel Pennington saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Göksel Taşdan got free with Pedro Manzanares in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Darrel Pennington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Darrel Pennington showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. Darrel Pennington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Secada in the 85th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Abram Secada's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Darrel Pennington was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Puianello FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
