Edward Mcdonald's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darrel Pennington read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Puianello FC's zone, Zach Harrison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Darrel Pennington came out of the goal and Zach Harrison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Darrel Pennington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 15th minute of play. Göksel Taşdan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Darrel Pennington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute USA were awarded a corner. Cassius Byrne went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 26th match minute, USA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zach Harrison to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Monty Rogers's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Darrel Pennington was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Raphael Moore made in the 38th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Cassius Byrne. The audience thought a goal was coming when Göksel Taşdan got free with Marco Day in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 46th minute of play forced Puianello FC's goalkeeper Darrel Pennington to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cassius Byrne made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Puianello FC's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Mcdonald came free, but Darrel Pennington reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darrel Pennington made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Edward Mcdonald sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Monty Rogers kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Darrel Pennington. That made the score 0-1 in the 64 minute of play. Darrel Pennington stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cassius Byrne's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. Darrel Pennington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 72nd minute of the match. Cassius Byrne's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Darrel Pennington firmly grabbed it by the left post. A collision led to Puianello FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Marcell Jacobs hit a great ball. The supporters of USA booed when Puianello FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcell Jacobs didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Carlo Mazzone stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Carlo Mazzone tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle sounded USA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Puianello FC.
