Saga TF's Joachim Forseth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Casaus in the 24th minute of play. Chile were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Saga TF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mariano Lacasa took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Pedro Indiano managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. In the 31st minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Forseth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Saga TF's attentive Jo Gvardiol managed to snatch the ball when Felix Garrido made a throw-in in the 47th minute of the game. After the first half Saga TF were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erik Cantona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Saga TF's attentive Trond Gilde managed to snatch the ball when Guillermo Fontirroig made a throw-in in the 67th minute of the game. 69 minutes into the match, Saga TF's Erik Cantona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Arne Botnen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 73 minutes into the game, Chile's Orlando Casaus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joachim Forseth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mariano Lacasa in the 78th managed to get into a good position. In the 90th match minute, Saga TF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arne Botnen to maneuver through the defense. Chile were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
