Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 2nd minute, when Gösta Billvall sent off a good shot on target. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 10 minutes into the match, Diniimanibelediyespor's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Melker Ödman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Diniimanibelediyespor's Gösta Billvall nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Josef Lind's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Josef Lind helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Diniimanibelediyespor's Josef Lind got a free kick in the 27th minute. 33 minutes into the match, Diniimanibelediyespor's Kurt Kullander sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gösta Billvall could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Primitivo Andino hit a great ball. Diniimanibelediyespor's Josef Lind couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 46th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ecuador. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Gösta Billvall in the 58th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 62 minutes into the match, Diniimanibelediyespor's goalkeeper Melker Ödman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurt Kullander, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. With 64 minutes on the clock, Camilo Gisbert commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Ecuador:s Julio Vera showed great skill when he stopped Josef Lind:s penalty. In the 66th minute, Josef Lind ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 69th minute Jens-Ove Persson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gösta Billvall in the 76th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jens-Ove Persson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 84 minutes, Melker Ödman successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 88th minute, Gösta Dalgren left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Diniimanibelediyespor fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Gösta Billvall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gösta Billvall struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Diniimanibelediyespor. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Jens-Ove Persson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot.
