Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Jimilio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute of the match, Carlos Jimilio tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Carlos Jimilio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Décio Félix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of play forced Paris Saint German's goalkeeper Çelik Kadem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Carlos Jimilio made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marty Whitmore in the 61st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Paris Saint German's Çelik Kadem got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Paris Saint German's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Çelik Kadem came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Paris Saint German's Çelik Kadem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 67th minute of play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 68th minute. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Çelik Kadem despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 73 minutes into the game, Bogdan Siniştean cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 78th minute, Sandro Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Çelik Kadem in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Çelik Kadem showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 82nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. Paris Saint German's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Daniel Zorita scored to the left of an out of position Çelik Kadem, making the score, 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 90th minute of play forced Paris Saint German's goalkeeper Çelik Kadem to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 92 in the game by Cristian Sancho from a close distance when the talented Çelik Kadem managed to make a qualified save. Paris Saint German's players were relieved. Agustín Saelices took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Çelik Kadem. Çelik Kadem dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
