SILMONT's Qiu Zhi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 19th minute of play. Martial Haas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. The throw-in from Ryan Monvoisin in the 24th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julian Murillo in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Qiu Zhi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Peru's Julian Murillo, in the 25th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Peru. In the 28th minute, Julian Murillo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Peru fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 33rd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Qiu Zhi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eliseo Mina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 40 minutes into the match, Peru's Eliseo Mina sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Qiu Zhi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The supporters of Peru booed when SILMONT was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryan Monvoisin didn't get a good kick on the ball.
