Francisco Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amador Menendo in the 7th minute of play. The supporters of Grêmio Meia Praia booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amador Menendo in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Amador Menendo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio Meia Praia's Francisco Soeiro. But to his dismay, Francisco Soeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aaron Alcocer in the 24th minute of play forced Grêmio Meia Praia's goalkeeper Amílton Dantas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Amílton Dantas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benito Sanz didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Grêmio Meia Praia's Amador Menendo shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-3 in the ordered_time% minute. 33 minutes into the game, one of Costa Rica:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Juan Rubio hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Amador Menendo put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Soeiro in the 44th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Amador Menendo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio Meia Praia's supporters rose to their feet, but Amador Menendo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Costa Rica players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Grêmio Meia Praia were winning 0-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amador Menendo to make the kick off. Francisco Soeiro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. After 51 minutes of play, Grêmio Meia Praia's Amador Menendo made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! From close distance Amador Menendo pressed in the 0-7 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 54 minutes into the game. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Soeiro in the 58th minute of play. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Grêmio Meia Praia's Amador Menendo. But to his dismay, Amador Menendo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Grêmio Meia Praia's Francisco Soeiro in the 67th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Benito Sanz was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Costa Rica through an amazing save. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Hugo Ferrant got a free kick in the 69th minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amador Menendo in the 72nd minute of play. In the 74th match minute, Grêmio Meia Praia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Gustavo Dante to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot 77 in the game by Amador Menendo from a close distance when the talented Benito Sanz managed to make a qualified save. Costa Rica's players were relieved. Francisco Soeiro struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio Meia Praia. In the 85th minute, Aaron Alcocer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abel Carballo charged in rather forcefully in the 89th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abel Carballo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. The long shot by Luiz Gustavo Dante in the 91st minute really tested Benito Sanz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After 92 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. After 96 minutes of play, Grêmio Meia Praia's Amador Menendo made it 0-11 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there!
