Jaime Cazalla hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. 12 minutes in the game, Francisco Seco fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Niceto Paio having to interfere. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gadiel Bobadilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. A collision led to Mustang V8 getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Edelmiro Quiroga hit a great ball. The supporters of Mustang V8 booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Sainz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 25 minutes into the game, Alberto Gisbert threw the ball into play from the sideline. Uruguay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jaime Cazalla in the 33rd minute. The corner led to Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The supporters of Mustang V8 booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Seco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute Orlando Iraitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Orlando Iraitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Jorge Sainz got a free kick in the 46th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Orlando Iraitz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Camilo Franco hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Orlando Iraitz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gadiel Bobadilla in the 63rd minute of play. Silvestre Santio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mustang V8's Niceto Paio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 70th minute of play. Haroldo Enetz made in the 73rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Silvestre Santio. In the 75th minute, Maximiliano Escribano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 76 minutes, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
