Marco Day was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 21st minute, Yuri Recife hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernani Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Jurgen Iwens scored 0-6 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marco Day, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Chants of LOBO 1908 echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as USA had held the ball for most of the match.
