Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Neco Arslanoğlu made a huge save. 32 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe SK's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Neco Arslanoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Doğa Suer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 41st match minute, Fenerbahçe SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Octavian Cutean to maneuver through the defense. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Neco Arslanoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Neco Arslanoğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 63rdth minute, when Fenerbahçe SK's Kamil İlican fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After having played for 64 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by Fenerbahçe SK's Elpidio Cordareo. But to his dismay, Elpidio Cordareo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. Fenerbahçe SK's Neco Arslanoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 79th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Aybars Direm reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. The goal made the score 0-9. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 85 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 90thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fenerbahçe SK's Neco Arslanoğlu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Venezuela supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Fenerbahçe SK's performance. The match ended with a win for Fenerbahçe SK.
