In the 17th match minute, Sons of Strategy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arnold Pool to maneuver through the defense. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Jan de Boer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Facundo Cadaval made a precise shot to the right of Jan de Boer. Sons of Strategy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arjen de Boer in the 35th minute of the match. 35 minutes in the game, Arjen de Boer dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Arjen de Boer came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute of the match, Lautaro Mancebo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jan de Boer was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Sons of Strategy booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Cazalla didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45thth minute of the game Henk van Zwieten who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jan de Boer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 61 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Leoz. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arjen de Boer in the 71st minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Sons of Strategy's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Jan de Boer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ferry Klein charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ferry Klein the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sons of Strategy's Jan de Boer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 75th minute of play. Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Wilco Heida capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wilco Heida really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. 79 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arjen de Boer. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Folker Diggele, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan de Boer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Facundo Cadaval in the 84th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arjen de Boer in the 88th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Facundo Cadaval to maneuver through the defense. 95 minutes into the match, Sons of Strategy's Wilco Heida broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide.
