Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Cristian Sancho scored 0-2 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Epifanio Iratzeder, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Abraham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Epifanio Iratzeder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Joakim Brandin tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Iratzeder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joakim Brandin in the 19th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Abraham in the 22nd minute of play. Luis Andino blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Epifanio Iratzeder having to make a save. 34 minutes into the match, Artetas artilleri's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Epifanio Iratzeder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Artetas artilleri's Brian Jones slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 1-2 after 36 minutes of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Noel Abraham in the 39th minute of play. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Epifanio Iratzeder read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Brian Jones. The Artetas artilleri players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Noel Abraham made the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Brian Jones's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Jim Croce's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jim Croce helped the player get up and apologised. In the 54th minute, Jim Croce hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 56 minutes Artetas artilleri's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. With a little luck, Artetas artilleri's Epifanio Iratzeder got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 68th minute of play forced Artetas artilleri's goalkeeper Epifanio Iratzeder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Epifanio Iratzeder having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Noel Abraham in the 81st minute of play. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Epifanio Iratzeder made a huge save. If Noel Abraham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Epifanio Iratzeder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Artetas artilleri's Noel Abraham in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. In the 94th minute of the match Artetas artilleri got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Valter Siöman ran over to the corner to take the kick. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Artetas artilleri throughout the match.
