Alberto Andreola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Covarrubias, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

A throw-in in the 58th minute of the game was made by Cosimo Avesani with Dennis Berardo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 64th minute, Iker Tafalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A sloppy throw-in by Dennis Berardo in the 68th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Paraguay's Xavier Zoido. Edoardo Rinaldi struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valdieri.
