Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Elpidio Francis made the kick off which started today's match. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo got a free kick in the 4th minute. Francisco Seco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Branislav Velchevski skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Elpidio Francis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd minute of the game Arturo Carvallo made a throw-in which Jaime Cazalla played forward. Branislav Velchevski made an important save on a dangerous shot by Francisco Seco in the 26th minute. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Francis in the 28th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Elpidio Francis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. After having played for 36 minutes, Elpidio Francis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elpidio Francis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Francisco Seco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Branislav Velchevski made a huge save. 43 minutes into the match, Elpidio Francis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elpidio Francis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Olle Snell hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Branislav Velchevski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Seco in the 47th minute of play. After the first half ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arnaldo Gabon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elpidio Francis in the 54th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Elpidio Francis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Elpidio Francis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joaquin Gayoso made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Elpidio Francis sent off a good shot on target. 60 minutes into the game, Elpidio Francis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Joaquin Gayoso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA made a substitution. André Monclús replaced Elpidio Francis. After 72 minutes of play, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Branislav Velchevski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Jaime Cazalla shot a long shot in the 82nd minute and a light blocked Branislav Velchevski hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-7. Branislav Velchevski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Seco's shot from short distance in the 91st minute.
