Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Villa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 15 minutes into the match, Elpidio Francis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Elpidio Francis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Elpidio Francis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elpidio Francis in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moises Tafalla in the 21st minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Branislav Velchevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Esteban Carvallo hit a great ball. 26 minutes into the game, Arnaldo Gabon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Lautaro Navarro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 29th minute of the game Valentín Carvallo made a throw-in which Christian Sancho played forward. Luca Espinar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The throw-in from Gabriel Erramun in the 33rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Honduras's Valentín Carvallo. 35 minutes into the game, Elpidio Francis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Lautaro Navarro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elpidio Francis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lautaro Navarro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Esteban Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elpidio Francis to strike the kick off in the second half. Arnaldo Gabon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when André Monclús got free with Lautaro Navarro in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Honduras's attentive Luca Espinar managed to snatch the ball when Arnoldo Cordero made a throw-in in the 77th minute of the game. Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Honduras's Edmundo Espiga in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalie prevented a goal. 81 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's André Monclús sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lautaro Navarro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Honduras's defense didn't have a chance, in the 94th minute, when André Monclús scored to the left of an out of position Lautaro Navarro, making the score, 0-9. The Honduras supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's performance. The match ended with a win for ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA.
