Leandro Gonzalez Pirez made in the 23rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 24th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Witold Ciempa in the 27th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute of the match Cremonese got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Milagros Fraga scored 3-0 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeremias Cruz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julian Murillo to strike the kick off in the second half. Jeremias Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 52nd minute of play. Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Nicasio Cresenciano in the 56 minute of the game. In the 59th minute, Luz Tejedor made a precise shot to the right of Jeremias Cruz. Cremonese's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Julian Murillo struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Jeremias Cruz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Peru's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
